Perform histocompatibility testing, e.g., HLA typing, HLA antibody screening, and crossmatching, in support of the Tulane Transplant and other Programs. The employee will have Quality Control and Quality Assurance responsibilities. After one year of training, the technologist will apply to take the Certified Histocompatibility Technologist (CHT) exam provided by the American College of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (ACHI). The employee is given two attempts to pass this exam and must do so to fulfill the training plan and requirements for promotion to HLA Technologist I. If a technician has not met requirements for promotion after two years, they may not continue in this position. …
